National Honor Society - Drives

The Drive Committee --

The Drive Committee runs all of the different drives that happen throughout the year, which include the Fall Can Drive, a Winter Drive of some sort, and the Blood Drive that takes place in the spring. The Fall Can Drive was kicked off with the Fall Fest Dance, which gave students a chance to win giftcards with a raffle. There is a classroom competition as well, with the homeroom that brings in the most cans earning a Taco Party. This competition lasts for around two weeks, and has smaller goals each day. This means that if Monday was for canned vegetables, any student who brought in those would be entered into another drawing for a chance to win some candy.

The Winter Drive has usually been a Coat Drive of some sort, but it usually does not have as big of a succes as the other drives. Due to this, there has been an idea of combining a few different ones, such as a sock drive, and perhaps a toy drive for around Christmas time. Finally, the Blood Drive happens every year around late winter or early spring through Versiti / Blood Center of Michigan. Any high school student who is 16 years or older with parent permission, or 17 years or older without, is elgible to donate blood during the school day.
